ADVISORY COUNSIL

Mission 500 is strictly a volunteer driven initiative with no staff and administrative costs. All promotional material is the result of donations from people supporting this worthy cause. There are eight Advisory council members, comprised of a number of Security Industry veterans who also volunteer their time to lead Mission 500 toward its goal

 

Andrea Ferrando

Andrea Ferrando has been in the Security industry for over ten years and is currently Expo Seguridad's (a Security Exhibition in Mexico ) Director of Sales and Marketing. Her past tenure included five years as the Executive Director of ALAS (Latin America Security Association), a non-profit organization founded in 1997 focused on elevating the level of professionalism in the Latin American Security industry.

Her tenure in the Industry also included time with Pelco, a world leading CCTV manufacturer, and with Ademco / Honeywell as Marketing Manager for Latin America . She is very active in the industry in the USA , as well as Latin America , and continues to serve on the ALAS Board of Directors, as well as World Vision South Florida's Advisory Council. She resides in Boca Raton with her husband and son.

 

George Fletcher

George Fletcher has been in the Security Industry for over 20 years and has been involved in 4 Industry start-ups, playing an important role in establishing Sales and positioning strategies. His career in the Security Industry includes experience in South Africa , Canada and over 30 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean . George is also a former Treasurer and Vice-President of SIA (Security Industry Association), and co-founder and a Director of ALAS (Latin American Security Association).

From 2005 to present he has been conducting Consulting projects in the Security Industry. He is also a Big Brother and is one of the founders of “ Mission 500”. He resides in Florida with his wife Andrea and son Derek.

 

Alan Forman


Alan Forman was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and began his career at the apprentice level working for a local security company. In 1974, Alan founded Arrow Protection Services Inc., which quickly grew to be one of the area's leading companies in the installation and service of commercial and residential alarm systems with its own central station. In 1984 Alan launched Altronix Corp. in collaboration with a talented engineer named Jonathan Sohnis – his co-founder and partner. Today Altronix offers the industry's most extensive line of low voltage products for access control, automation, video surveillance, fire, security and nurse call applications.
 
Over the years, Alan has further elevated his presence in the industry by serving as a Board Member for the Security Industry Association, as President of the Staten Island Alarm Association, and as a Board member for the Metropolitan Burglar & Fire Alarm Association of New York. In 2005 Alan was inducted into the Security Sales & Integration Hall of Fame, which honors key industry figures for their lifetime achievement, their dedication and their accomplishments. Alan is very involved in many philanthropic organizations both locally and globally funding medical research aimed at improving the lives of children and the elderly.

 

Les Gold

Lessing Gold is a partner in Mitchell, Silberberg & Knupp LLP, one of Los Angeles ' premier law firms, where he is Chairman of the Corporate Department. He practices law with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, shareholder disputes, contractual negotiations, representation of non-profit associations and representation before regulatory agencies. He is a frequent speaker at the International Security Conference and other trade associations. He publishes a monthly column in the SDM Magazine, a national trade publication for the security industry and he is counsel to a number of trade organizations.

He is a graduate of Northwestern University where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree and is a graduate of the University of Southern California Law School where he received a Doctor of Law degree.

He was also named one of the "25 Most Dynamic People" who have shaped the security industry by Security Sales & Integration, is a r ecipient of the George R. Lippert Memorial Award from the Security Industry Association for exemplary service to the security industry, and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the California Alarm Association for service to the security industry.

He is on the Advisory Board of the UCLA Friends of English, Chairman Emeritus of the Shakespeare Festival/Los Angeles; a Founder of the Los Angeles Music Center; a Patron of the Los Angeles Opera and a member of the Metropolitan Opera Guild in New York. Les is married to Sandra, has two children and six grandchildren.

 

Richard Hahn

Richard Hahn has been involved in the security industry for over 16 years. Previously, he worked in a New York City ad agency that specialized in the financial community and Wall Street firms.

Richard transitioned to the security industry when he was asked to head up and manage a new security publication, Security news. Soon after Richard Hahn & Associates began in 1994 and quickly developed a strong reputation with industry leaders, associations, large and small companies and the industry press. Richard has worked with Honeywell, TYCO, Bosch, ADT and many smaller companies and start-ups. In addition, Richard Hahn & Associates has experience in the international markets including Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Latin America . Today, Richard has on his team, former editors and top-quality designers. Richard Hahn & Associates provides companies with business development, networking, marketing and public relations strategies and services

 

Marc Mineau

 

Marc Mineau is past president of SIA and the Canadian Security Association (CANASA) as well as a longtime member of CSAA and NBFAA. Mineau started his career in the industry 30 years ago with his first company, Omnitron Systems. He later created the Access Control manufacturer Kantech Systems, which he eventually sold to DSC. He subsequently joined DSC as a Vice-President of Business Development and continued on with Tyco after they acquired the company.

Marc has received numerous Industry recognitions, including the 1998 Henderson Award from the Canadian Alarm and Security association for extraordinary service to the Canadian Security Industry, the 2004 Lippert Memorial Award which is presented for exemplary service to the Security Industry and the Security Industry Association, and in 2005 he was honored with the Triton award from CSAA, NBFAA and SIA in recognition of his work to promote ecumenical initiatives for the betterment of the security industry,
and for his timeless efforts in building bridges between the three major Associations in the security industry.

Marc has also been a speaker at numerous Industry events in Canada , US, Europe and ASIA . He has had extensive international travel, and has a worldwide network of Security Industry friends and associates. He currently resides in Florida with his wife Diane.

 

Craig Robinson

Born in Canada , residing in Miami , FL , USA Craig has 27 years Security Industry experience. Scope of experience has ranged from Service, Manufacturing and to the Distribution sectors – covering Europe, Canada , United States , South and Central America, including the Caribbean .

Expertise includes mergers and acquisitions, sales, marketing, finance, and business development. Founding participant in the Latin American trade association: ALAS.

 

Ron Spiller

 

Ron Spiller spent the major part of his career in the electronic security industry, serving as president, and then executive director of the Security Industry Association (SIA).

While at SIA, he formed the SAINTS foundation (Safety and Independence now Through Security). Saints worked with the National Council of Churches in rebuilding and securing several hundreds of churches that were victimized by arson and vandalism in the 1990's. SAINTS also joined with Habitat for Humanity in constructing secure housing in Harlem, the Bronx, Americus , GA. ; and other locations where crime was an issue for the inhabitants of the H for H residents.

Spiller currently resides in Northern California , and continues to be active in CASA, an advocacy group for children in trouble with the law.
