The Mission 500 CSR Award honors a company in the security industry that has made a significant contribution to those in need. The judging criteria includes an assessment of applicants’ CSR programs as they relate to effectiveness in helping the communities they focus on, involvement of company personnel, sustainability, and long-term impact of the programs and activities that go beyond financial contributions.
Employees can nominate the company they work for, as well as partner organizations they work with. A judging panel evaluates applicants according to the criteria and applicants’ contributions toward social causes. In 2017, the CSR Award was given to NorthStar Home.
During ISC West, Mission 500 will also present its Humanitarian Award which recognizes individuals in the security industry who have made important contributions to those in need. The 2017 recipient was Jay Gotra of Alliance Security.
“Our 2018 award recipients have been outstanding in their community contributions and have lead the way for others to follow,” said George Fletcher, Advisory board member and Mission 500 volunteer. “Through their contributions and the volunteer commitments of hundreds of security professionals, the possibilities for helping children in need are vastly improved.”
Entry forms must be completed and submitted by March 12, 2018. Those who are interested in participating, can find the CSR Award and Humanitarian Award forms here. Forms can also be obtained and submitted by emailing Kathryn Robinson at firstname.lastname@example.org

About Mission 500
Mission 500 is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization that works closely with the security industry to serve the needs of children living in severe poverty across the United States. Through corporate sponsorships and donations, the volunteer-driven initiative has distributed more than 13,000 book bags filled with school supplies to students attending Title One schools, provided almost 50,000 weekend meals to children who aren’t promised a meal outside of a school setting, and most recently, donated 300 hope packs filled with school supplies and essential hygiene items for children misplaced by natural disasters. Mission 500 also serves as an advisory team for partners in Canada and Latin America. Through this partnership, Mission 500 LATAM is currently sponsoring 1,000 impoverished children around the world.
